Our user-centered design process is based on discovering
- Who the users of the product are
- The tasks, goals and contexts of those users
- What information and functionality the users need from the product
- How best to present that information and functionality
- How to make the product easy to use and understand
- The validity of our design solutions through user testing
There are four components to our methodology:
Investigate
At ropeSwing, investigation is our in-depth process of learning
and analysis. We look at how your company is (and wants to be) positioned.
We study competitive products, usage patterns, information about
your customers and relevant market data. We analyze your users'
motivations, discover their wants and needs, define the tasks they
must be able to accomplish, and outline the product's functional
requirements based on our findings and your vision for the product.
Conceive
Based on your customer's needs and your business strategy, ropeSwing
develops a user experience strategy. This strategy integrates your
business and user requirements into the design of your product's
architecture, interaction and visual style. We create concept models
that catalyze successful design and development. These models serve
as a road map to the development of the product they include
navigational flow diagrams and interaction schematics, branding
and visual style, and user interface specifications.
Prototype
Throughout the project, ropeSwing creates rapid design mock-ups
so that we can test navigational flow, interactions, and visual
treatments with your users to determine the best design solutions.
Quick prototypes help to ensure that our designs are useful, usable
and engaging. By validating our designs early in the development
process, we are able to avoid dramatic changes in later production
cycles.
Produce
ropeSwing develops the front-end technology to bring your product's
look, feel and functionality to life.
