ropeSwing's founders share a vision. We want to help our clients
succeed by making usable, useful, and engaging products that become
integral to their users' lives. We accomplish this goal through
a steadfast commitment to understanding the goals of our clients
and the needs of their customers. ropeSwing is guided by the belief
that people's experience of the world is shaped in part by the interactions
they have with the objects that surround them. As designers, we
have the potentialand the responsibilityto make the
world a better place through humane design.
ropeSwing was started in the spring of 2001 by Alice Clark, Marc
Lenburg, Donald McCaskill, and Paulus Trisnadi. Together, we offer
our clients 23 years of professional experience. Before starting
ropeSwing, the founders were part of the core design-services team
of MONKEYmedia, an award-winning user-interface design firm. MONKEYmedia
has shifted its focus to strategic intellectual property licensing,
and ropeSwing carries forward its legacy of high-quality user-interface
design intended to improve people's relationships with technology.
The name "ropeSwing" came to us on a warm spring day in the Texas
Hill Country. Walking beside a creek, discussing the design solutions
we seek to provide our clients, we saw a rope swing hanging over
the water from an old live oak tree. We were struck by its simple
and effective design. For us, that rope swing represents the user-centered
design solutions we strive to create.
